Security guard fatally shoots man in southeast Dallas parking lot, police say

A man died Tuesday night after a security guard shot him in a southeast Dallas parking lot, police say.

Officers responded about 9:30 p.m. to the shooting at 116 N.

Jim Miller Road, near Loop 12.

An armed and commissioned security guard at the scene told officers that he’d gotten into a fight with another man and shot him when the man pulled out a handgun during the argument.

The man died at a hospital.

The guard and the man who was shot have not been publicly identified.

Police said they were continuing to investigate and did not indicate whether the security guard might face charges.
