Haslingden newsagent cash security guard robbed by gang
A cash security guard was forced to hand over money after being ambushed by a gang of thugs at a Haslingden newsagent. The terrifying robbery happened outside Haslingden News in Manchester Road shortly after 8am today (September 13). The money is understood to have been destined for the cash machine inside the popular shop.

A police cordon is in place and enquiries are underway. No arrests have been made. A police force spokesperson said: “We were called around 8.05am today (Monday, September 13) following a report of a cash in transit robbery in Haslingden.
“It was reported several men had robbed a security guard at Haslingden News in Manchester Road with a quantity of cash stolen. “The guard was not injured with the offenders making off from the scene in a black Volkswagen Golf car. “The vehicle was later recovered in the West Yorkshire area by police.
