Pawtucket police charge woman with filing false police report about child found near highway
PAWTUCKET — Pawtucket police say they are charging a Central Falls woman with filing a false police report in connection with a young boy who was reported having been found near Route 95 early Sunday. Police said Sunday morning that they were seeking information about the boy, who they said at the time was discovered near the highway by a woman taking an Uber ride home. Later Sunday evening, the police say the child’s parent had been located.
They said the woman who had made the initial report, identified as 22-year-old Daniela Peraza Lemus, had been charged with filing a false police report and would be held pending arraignment by a bail commissioner on Monday.
