Schenectady Police: Report of person with weapon investigated on Broadway; House empty, no weapons found

SCHENECTADY – City police closed a section of Broadway midday Thursday for investigation of a person with a possible weapon, a police spokesman said.

Officers, however, searched the home and found no weapons and no one inside, the spokesman said.

Broadway remained closed at noon between Fairview Avenue and Third Street, spokesman Officer Pat Irwin said.

Officers could be seen going through both floors, clearing the house. A K-9 was also there.

Police left the residence by 12:45 p.m.
